I recently visited with a large networking group and realized I'd been here during COVID for outdoor dining only - this was my first time seeing the spacious interior. While it wasn't busy during our visit, the size of the restaurant suggests it could get quite lively during peak hours. We took advantage of their happy hour menu, which offered great options. I ordered: Falafel Caesar salad Chips and salsa My food was enjoyable, particularly the falafel with perfectly warm, soft pita bread. However, I noticed some consistency issues - another person at our table ordered the same falafel dish but received cold, hard pita bread and a less appealing presentation. The service was impressive, with our server expertly managing our large group's constant movement while maintaining regular check-ins.

Usually food is consistently good. Service is consistently good. Love their outdoor seating when weather allows. If ordering take out, check they got your order in the bag correctly before you leave!

Fred and I loved this place! So big and spacious. Free pool on sundays! That was our fav part! They had a family friendly side, I hear their food is great! Their jungle juice cider was the best we've tasted in a long time! You'll catch us here Sundays for pool!

The menu selection at the old market is still kind of great but they are constantly stepping it down. Before the pandemic they made the best burgers ever in town with grinding their own turkey meat for their turkey paddies. Understandable they did stop doing that during the pandemic with it being a lot of work and in risk of not selling a lot since customer not showing. So I understood the argument that they stopped doing it. But while COVID is not gone the pandemic is over in July 2023 and they still have not decided to make em available. And today we came in happy to see they still offering a vegetarian gravy for the biscuits. But when hubby ordered it we have been told this is discontinued as well. What??? What would you take all the items off the menu that bring people in and finally ending with just a regular brunch spot menu?? During our stay here at least one other couple on a table next to us tried to order the veg-gravy. Very disappointing choices from the management That all said what comes out of the kitchen is good hearty food. We had a vegetarian breakfast sandwich and a gyro pita with home made tzatziki both came out with sides of onion rings and tater tots.

Rustic, hearty, large-portioned meals; stiff drinks; tasty, adventurous beers brewed on-site; pool, shuffleboard and slot machines, and vidya games for the littles (yep, this place is family friendly!), all under one roof, and wrapped in an upscale truck stop diner/sports bar aesthetic. The Old Market Pub & Brewery seems like a great place for a casual breakfast, lunch, brunch, or dinner with family and/or friends. It's both relaxed and a little rowdy; the kind of place where the rugrats can run around being noisy and rambunctious without causing too much of a stir. The food is robust and unpretentious, and will definitely leave you feeling full, or taking home leftovers: the delicious meatball sub I ordered filled the role of two and a half meals! Similarly, my wife was in dire straits attempting to tackle Andy's BIG Buttermilk Biscuits and Gravy, with a side of bacon. If nothing else, you get your money's worth here! Unsure of what beverage to accompany your meal? Not surprising; the list of brews is mighty, so ask for a sample before committing. The Hot Tamale is something else, with a spice that goes right up your nose! I should have ordered that, but as it was brunch time, I went with a Bloody Mary, which was...serviceable, but not particularly exciting. The Black Magic Stout, which my wife sampled, was so good, it could function as a dessert by itself, with its chocolate and coffee aromas and flavors. Very recommended! The service was a bit of a mixed bag: things started strong - friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, helpful and attentive; by the end, we found ourselves asking "Where the hell is our server?" It took longer to get a to-go box and the check than it did to order and have our entrées delivered to our table. Thankfully we weren't in a hurry. Service snafu aside (which I imagine is an isolated incident), and despite the fact that it's a little out of the way for us, the Old Market Pub & Brewery's rustic charm and lively, welcoming environment left a solid enough impression on the both of us to warrant a return in the future. In short, ditch the Denny's and skip the Shari's: the real meal deal is here!
